About us
Fashion Event Dotek
We connect young fashion designers from secondary schools and universities with the charitable sector. At the same time, we aim to raise awareness and promote education about breast cancer prevention by supporting the organization Alliance of Woman with Breast Cancer.
As part of a one-day event, we offer fashion enthusiasts educational workshops led by professionals from the fashion industry and provide fashion design students with the opportunity to present their work during a fashion show and charity auction. The proceeds from the auctioned collection are donated to support the activities of the mentioned organization, which helps women affected by this serious illness.
Non-profit activities
The Fashion Event Dotek project has already supported several non-profit organizations helping women with breast cancer. For the past eight years, it has been cooperating with the Alliance of Women with Breast Cancer, which brings together 40 patient organizations. The project supports the Alliance through proceeds from the auction of a special collection, which forms part of the main program, and contributes annually to its operation. At the same time, it engages in educational activities in the form of lectures and workshops at secondary schools as well as during the event itself.
Fragments
Wholeness is often seen as an ideal, a goal of perfection, yet each of us is a mosaic of stories, emotions, chaos, and unanswered questions. Perhaps it is not important to complete the whole, but to find beauty in the process, in transformation, and in the reassembly of life’s fragments. Fragments give new meaning to cracks, reflect each of our unique perspectives, and remind us that we are not broken, only reshaped in a different, unique way.
History of the project
Prologue
Fashion Event Dotek, in its thirteenth edition with the theme Prolog, immersed itself in a world of mysticism, rituals, and the symbolism of colors. The event also featured a modern perspective on female strength and the artistic interpretation of nine collections created by young designers from the Czech Republic and Denmark. The Svit area in Zlín welcomed more than 800 visitors.
Metamorfóza
Metamorphosis as a process of decay and new birth, a symbol of human transformation, defined the theme of the twelfth edition of Fashion Event Dotek. Talented designers from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Italy showcased their collections. The atmosphere was enriched by tailor-made music from Zlín-based producer Rainer, while the evening was hosted by moderator Veronika Ruppert.
Identita
The theme of Identity, expressing mystery, uniqueness, and diversity, set the tone for the eleventh edition of Fashion Event Dotek at the Zlín Svit complex. Twelve collections by talented design students from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and England shone on the runway. The gala evening concluded with an afterparty that brought the entire event to a close.
